![]() Places where ‘Robertson’s translation seems to reflect different textual choices suggest that he has also made use of Donald J. In general, but not in every detail, Robertson’s translation relies on the same Greek text Kovacs uses. In fact Robertson acknowledges Kovacs’ edition as “my primary source” (xxii). We find an excellent example of a translation that supplies that desideratum in David Kovacs’ translation. ![]() So what does Robin Robertson contribute to this feast of translation? Certainly not a faithfully literal rendering of the Greek text. 1 We also have several other English translations which have appeared in the last several years, not to mention the Loeb of David Kovacs, Euripides: Cyclops, Alcestis, Medea, from as recently as 1994. Schaps, the reviewer of BMCR 2008.06.18, announced: “This is the Medea we have been waiting for,” in reviewing Diane Arnson Svarlien’s new translation of the play. ![]() When I noticed this title on the BMCR list of books received, I could not avoid asking myself, “Does the world really need another English translation of the Medea ?” As recently as last year David M. ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() It all looked the same with the same dull brown tones. But, for a large part of the comic it was just random men shooting at each other. What!? You just said Bucky looked cool! I did. The reason I rated this down was because of the dull artwork. The plot was written very well it isn’t too outlandish and is strangely plausible. It was risky to bring back such an important character of Captain America’s past, though it was handled very smoothly. You can’t blame the sword for the deed though its’ the man who wields it that’s guilty. So when that got out, the fists started flying. He’s done some terrible things, things that have directly harmed certain members of the avengers. ![]() And when that’s paired with adeptness at killing, it results in a rather dangerous character.Īnd that’s the problem. He doesn’t know who he is, and he clearly experiences brief glimpses of a past he doesn’t even remember having a part in. You can see the man has a lot playing on his mind. As trite as it sounds, he is such a dark and brooding character. I just couldn’t help but feel sorry for him. For all the boring political differences between Rogers and Stark, the catalyst of the war was Bucky. Who agrees with me?Īlso I just have to say that the new Captain America Civil War movie was great. Whether it’s on screen or in this comic, Bucky looks sooooooooo damn cool. ![]() First off, before I say anything about the plot of this, I just wanted to take a brief moment to say how awesome I think the Winter Solider actually looks. ![]() ![]() The timestamp is only as accurate as the clock in the camera, and it may be completely wrong. Daulerio, then editor of the company’s flagship site, published excerpts of a sex tape, recorded in 2006 without Bollea’s consent or knowledge, that showed Bollea in bed with Heather Clem, who was then married to Bollea’s best friend: the radio personality Bubba the Love Sponge. “Conspiracy” chronicles the legal battle between Terry Bollea, or Hulk Hogan, and Gawker Media, the swashbuckling Manhattan publishing group founded by Nick Denton. It takes real nerve, during an investigation into possible collusion to swing the 2016 presidential election, to argue that we might be better off “if more people took up plotting.” Unfortunately for Holiday, and for readers who enjoy a good provocation, his book focuses on a case that demonstrates why transparency beats conspiracy in the long run. That is what makes Ryan Holiday’s “Conspiracy” such a delight. In an age when people compete to be contrarian, it is rare to encounter an astounding proposition. Conspiracy: Peter Thiel, Hulk Hogan, Gawker, and the Anatomy of Intrigue tells the story of an astonishing modern media conspiracy.
